Working remotely during this unprecedented time could have you and your colleagues feeling disconnected and lacking a sense of company culture. Luckily, there are many tools that help businesses stay connected from anywhere. Check out a few of our favorites in this week’s blog!

Slack

  • Slack is a team chat tool that allows businesses to have chat rooms, or as they call them, channels, for employees to discuss different topics. It also allows users to voice call and video chat on an individual basis, but when upgrading to the paid version, users can video and voice chat with multiple people at once.

Zoom

  • If face-to-face meetings are important to your day-to-day business, Zoom is the most popular conferencing tool at the moment! Zoom allows up to 100 people to video conference at once. Be careful though, rumor has it that the free version only allows conferences to last 40 minutes before starting a new conversation!

Trello

  • Trello is a project management software that the Social Ape team actually uses every day. Trello makes it simple to keep track of clients, monitor the progress of different projects and assign tasks to members of your team. It also makes it super easy to keep items organized with lists titled To Do, Doing and Done. The free version does limit the number of boards you can create, but you have unlimited cards and projects!

Microsoft Teams

  • Similar to Slack, Microsoft Teams is a team chat tool. The paid version, which is included in Office 365 Business subscriptions, allows video and voice meetings for up to 250 people. If your company uses Office 365, this is the way to go to stay connected.

Bonusly

  • Bonusly is a fun and interactive employee recognition and rewards tool. Team members have the ability to send points to each other as a way to say “good job” or “thanks for your help!” The points equal different amounts of money, which can be turned in for e-gift cards to places like Nordstrom, Sephora, Target and more! While this tool isn’t free, it’s a great way for teams to stay engaged and keep up morale even when working from home.
