Hi there, I’m Jay! I am currently a Communications major in my junior year at Old Dominion University with a focus on Public Relations. I grew up in southwest Virginia and found a love for Charlotte after spending many trips traveling to the city to visit close friends that relocated to the area. I am an avid Carolina Panthers and Charlotte Hornets fan, and I’m extremely excited for the Charlotte FC MLS team to start up!

What do you do at Social Ape Marketing?

I create and schedule social media content for Social Ape across a spectrum of platforms.

Why are you passionate about marketing and PR?

I love helping people and businesses succeed. Marketing and PR are valuable tools in promoting brand awareness, which is essential to both creating and maintaining a successful brand. Brands thrive with a strong social media presence and I thoroughly enjoy the ability to use my creativity to make an impact.

What do you do in your free time?

I enjoy checking out craft breweries, running, and taking photos with my iPhone. I also enjoy spending time with my wife and our two pups. Traveling and exploring new places is another passion of mine.

What do you love about Charlotte?

The city has a great vibe. From the sports teams to the restaurants to the unique neighborhoods, Charlotte has it all.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

In five years, I see myself working in public relations for a local agency or marketing firm. I would love to assist with sports marketing in particular.

What is one thing that most people don’t know about you?

I have a passion for history, particularly the American Revolution. After my first trip to Charleston, South Carolina, I grew even more passionate about the history of the city and its importance to the founding of our country. Charleston truly is where history meets southern charm.

Welcome, Jay! We’re excited to have you join the Social Ape Marketing team this semester.
