You can add a payment method in this screen, this can be added later but having a payment method is required before being able to run any ads.

1. Set Up Facebook Audiences

In the Audiences section of the Business Manager, you can set up who is the main target of your ads.

In here, we can set up the following about our target audience:

  • Interests

  • Behaviors

  • Demographics

  • Lookalike Sources

  • Audience Location and Size

  • Website Traffic

  • Customer File

  • Engagement

2. Set up Campaign Objectives

You can select your campaign objectives from the Brand Awareness, Considerations, and Conversions categories. You can create your ad to start at any point of the marketing process.

You can learn more about Campaign Objectives and how to choose the best one for you here.

3. Create Ad Sets

Once the objective is selected, you can create ad sets. Each ad set you create can be optimized based on the target audience, budget for campaign, and how the ad will be placed.

4. Set Budget

You can set your budget for a daily maximum spend and lifetime budget over the lifetime of the ad campaign. The costs of the impressions is mainly based on the demand for the specific ad group. You can learn more about how to choose a budget for your ad campaign here.

5. Select audience and Ad Placements for Ad Sets

Your next step should be to choose your audience for each of the ad sets you have created. You can create new audiences, or use lookalike audiences from the audiences created before. You can also choose to target audiences based on their personal engagement with your page, content or ads.

You can then select the placement for the ad to decide how and where it will be shown. You can choose to have your ad shown in specific content, such as stories or articles, and you can even have the ad shown in Instagram. You can use the automated placement until you know your exact audience’s location.

You have 5 formats to choose from:
