With Monday, April 7th being National Beer Day, we wanted to keep the hoppy vibes going by doing a quick case study round-up of a few beer-related campaigns we’ve created over the past few years. From creative beer pairings to impactful community events, here’s how we’ve helped breweries boost their brand awareness and engagement through strategic marketing campaigns.

Birdsong Brewing – Girl Scout Cookie Beer Pairing

In March 2023, Social Ape Marketing partnered with Birdsong Brewing to design a standout campaign that elevated the brewery’s visibility in Charlotte’s highly saturated craft beer market. The goal: to attract media attention and public interest through an unexpected combination, pairing Birdsong’s craft beers with beloved Girl Scout cookies. This unique angle, devised by our Social Ape team, helped differentiate Birdsong from other local breweries while offering a fresh, engaging experience for Charlotte residents.

By drafting an engaging media alert, Social Ape effectively captured the essence of the event, crafting a story that resonated with the local press. The team strategically targeted key Charlotte media outlets, pitching the event as a must-attend and leveraging relationships with local reporters and news programs to maximize exposure. NoDa Brewing x Charlotte Radiology – Pink Pint Night

To kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month, NoDa Brewing and Charlotte Radiology hosted Pink Pint Night, an annual event that brings the Charlotte community together for a great cause. The event consistently draws over 600 attendees who enjoy live music, a silent auction, food trucks, and an exclusive “pink” brew. More importantly, it raises critical funds for Levine Cancer Institute’s Project Pink, which provides life-saving mammograms to uninsured women.

Our team promoted the Pink Pint Night event to the Charlotte community through paid advertisements and targeted local outreach. The campaign delivered outstanding results:

  • 26,453 Facebook reach and 37,868 Facebook post impressions
  • 1,300 Facebook event responses
  • 40,700 Facebook event reach and 3,300 event viewers
  • 900 in attendance
  • $50K raised

Town Brewing – One In A Melon Festival

In July 2023, Social Ape helped Town Brewing promote their One In A Melon Watermelon Festival, celebrating the release of their seasonal watermelon craft beer. The festival featured watermelon-themed drinks, including watermelon seltzer, watermelon mimosas, and sorbet.

The campaign’s goal was to secure at least three media features on Town Brewing’s One In A Melon craft beer release and festival. Click here to see the results.

Legion Brewing – Third Location Announcement

In June 2019, the Social Ape team announced Legion Brewing’s plans to expand to the Freemore West area in fall 2020 with their third taproom location. As soon as the lease on the new property was signed, we sent out an exclusive pitch to the Charlotte Business Journal and press releases to additional local and restaurant news outlets. This outreach resulted in extensive media coverage and social media engagement:

  • 13 articles published
  • 2,870 social media shares
  • 207,000 estimated coverage reach

Twenty-Six Acres Brewing – Social Media Growth

Twenty-Six Acres Brewing Company, located in Concord, NC, has been a staple in the local craft beer scene since 2016. Known for its creative brews like Reptar Juice and Unicorn Milk, the brewery wanted to increase engagement and general awareness through organic social media growth.

Social Ape Marketing helped by executing a strategic organic social media campaign across Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. This included:

  • A customized photography shoot to capture fresh images of the taproom and beer
  • A regular cadence of social media posts
  • Facebook Events and Instagram Stories to highlight brewery happenings and special releases

These case studies showcase how impactful, creative marketing strategies can help breweries boost their brand awareness, engagement, and community impact. If your brewery is looking for a way to stand out in the crowded craft beer scene, let’s chat! 🍻
