Hey!! My name is Emily Stone and I am originally from Greenville, SC. In 2014, I moved to the Queen City to attend Queens University of Charlotte. While there, held various internships at a variety of companies including Social Ape and ESPN Events and obtained a degree in Sport Management and Marketing. For the last 3 ½ years I have been with a local sports company, Raycom Sports. I am so excited to be joining the Social Ape Team (again)!!
I currently live in Denver, NC (no not Colorado) with my husband, Devon and our two pups Fluffy and Ben!
What do you do at Social Ape Marketing?
At Social Ape, I create a variety of digital content for clients and oversee the operations at Social Ape by working directly with all of our clients.
Why are you passionate about marketing?
Fun fact, I actually started out as a pre-med major in college, but after discovering chemistry wasn’t for me, I decided to pivot to something I loved, marketing. That is when I found my passion for marketing. I truly believe in this day and age, it is the one thing that can make or break a business. I love creating content for clients and helping their business grow. The world of marketing is always evolving and changing, which I love because it keeps me on my toes and I am always learning something new to implement with my clients.
What do you do in your free time?
In my free time, if I am not at a Clemson football game cheering on my tigers, you can find me running my online boutique, Shop Unrivaled. I also love to workout, so most likely you can find me at Burn Boot Camp Class during lunch or after work. I am a huge Disney fanatic so any chance I get I am headed to Disney World and yes I did have my engagement pictures taken there! I enjoy spending time with my family and friends whether it’s on the lake, at the beach, at a concert (yes I am a concert junkie and Eric Church is my favorite artist) or around a home cooked meal. I also love to travel to new places, that is why I am very excited to be visiting the Galapagos Islands in August.
What do you love about Charlotte?
I love that Charlotte has grown so much in the 7 years that I have lived here. From all the new restaurants and breweries to the sports teams and other activities, I feel like I am always trying something new. I also love that it is not far from Lake Norman and there are so many fun towns I can explore that are within an hour of Charlotte. I like to say it is hard to get bored in Charlotte because your options of what to do are endless.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
In five years, I see myself still working in the marketing + digital space and helping small businesses succeed.
What is one thing that most people don’t know about you?
I was an influencer before influencers were a thing! While in high school, I had a Twitter account with over 35k followers.
Also, I have been on over 15 cruises; see I told you I love to travel.
