Recreating Trends

Many social media platforms discourage copying content, but on TikTok, it is one of the most popular forms of creating content. In order to increase your followers and create content your audiences will want to see; it is important to stay up to date on TikTok’s latest trends. TikTok trends can consist of popular hashtags, video challenges, dances, or audio sounds. The more you use these trends the more likely you are to end up on potential follower’s For You Page. Recreating TikTok trends should be creative and adaptable to your business and brand. A popular dance may not seem to be “on brand” for you, but by changing it to reflect your business values will have you on the right track for gaining followers.

Educational Content

On TikTok, users love to learn new things. It is important to include “How To’s” and educational content on your profile. For example, let’s say you are a digital marketing agency and want to teach your followers how to create an Instagram story using Canva. Instead of lengthy explanations and long videos, try creating a TikTok that consist of 5 things: What you will be teaching today, 3 quick and easy tips to succeed, and a call to action.

Call To Action

A key tactic to pull people on TikTok into contacting you is adding “Send me a DM” at the end of your videos. By using a direct call to action, users feel welcome to ask for advice or help on the topic you are discussing. Asking and responding to direct DMs opens the doors for users to not just follow you on the TikTok app, but also follow your business on other social media platforms or even sign up for your informational newsletters.

Live Stream

TikTok live stream increases your profile’s exposure exponentially. When you go live your followers get a notification and your live will also show up on users feed, even if they are not following you. Live streams may seem a little overwhelming but consider doing a behind the scenes at an event or even a quick Q&A in the office.

Don’t Delete Videos!

Obviously, not every single one of your videos will go viral, but make sure you keep them on your profile anyways! It is common for a video that originally had 3 likes to suddenly hit people’s FYP and go viral weeks later. There is also a part of Tik Tok’s algorithm that frowns upon deleting videos. Instead of deleting videos off of your profile, try reposting them or re-editing the video.

Hashtags

As a Tik Toker, the ultimate goal is to hit individuals For You Page and increase our followers. In order to do so, it is important use the right hashtags. Most content includes #FYP, #ForYouPage or #ForYou, but it is extremely important to include trending hashtags in your captions. In order to find the most popular trending hashtags, tap the Discover Tab or begin typing hashtags out and you will see the hashtags performance. Referring to the photo below, you can see how many views the trending hashtags are getting and If the hashtag has fire icon, it means the hashtag is gaining a lot of traction quickly. By using the right hashtags that are relatable to your brand will help people discover your content and inform the TikTok algorithm what your video and your profile is all about.
