Hi! My name is Hjalmar Rigail. I was born in South America and moved to Charlotte when I was 13, just in time for High School. I am currently a senior at UNCW with a major in Marketing & International Business. I’ve been a member of Delta Sigma Phi since my freshman year, and was in charge of recruitment for two years. I have two brothers, both way older than me and I have two cats, which are the best cats ever.
What do you do at Social Ape Marketing?
I research and create engaging and useful content for the weekly newsletter and blog.
Why are you passionate about marketing?
Because marketing is one of the most important aspects of a business, and with how advanced our society is getting, marketing is only becoming more essential to businesses. Also, marketing is an industry that just keeps getting more efficient and innovative and I want to be a part of that process.
What do you do in your free time?
My dream job is to be a music producer, so in my free time I work on my music skills using Ableton as a DAW. Me and my brother have been doing this for a while now, and we hope to make it big one day. Aside from that, I mainly just hang out with my friends or my cats. Nowadays with social distancing, there’s not much to do, but hopefully I can catch up once this all ends!
What do you love about Charlotte?
I love that all of my family lives here, and that we have an amazing football team. This was the first city I knew when I came to the U.S. so it just feels like home here to me. I know my way around and I love the people here!
Where do you see yourself in five years?
Hopefully, as a big music producer for hip-hop artists. That would be my dream. If that doesn’t work out, hopefully I’ll be working for a marketing agency, where I can show off my skills in the marketing world.
