Twitter Ads are an inexpensive way to advertise an event or your business to a highly-targeted audience online. Running a Twitter ad is similar to creating an ad on Facebook, but here we go through the process step-by-step so you’ll be fully prepared when you create your first campaign.

To get to the Twitter ad page, press the “Twitter Ads” button in the scroll box after you click your logo account button in the top right corner of your home screen.

Once you reach the Twitter Ads page, you can decide between generating a tweet to make into an ad or choosing a tweet that has previously been tweeted. If you decide to generate a tweet, add all of your content then press “Tweet (Promotion Only)”

Once you have determined what content you want to have in the ad, you then decide what type of audience you want to reach through targeting. The first step is to type in the locations you wish to reach by typing the cities in the box. Next you decide the gender and languages you wish to reach.

Next, you’ll add keywords to target. You can play around with the terms by noting the blue orb next to the term and comparing the size with the reach chart in the box.

After you determine which keywords you want attached to the ad, you can then target the followers of other accounts. This is a great way to further your reach through the cities you choose to target.

Then you’ll need to determine the interests you want to target. These are pre-populated and more general so you may have to play around with the word choices to find the specific interest that aligns with your content.

You also have the choice between tailored audiences, TV targeting, behaviors, and event targeting. These options work similarly as the other targeting information inputs.

Finally, add your budget by adding a daily maximum and a total budget. We are only running this ad for one day so we made the max and total the same amount.
