We’re Social Ape Marketing, a Charlotte-based marketing company specializing in social media marketing & public relations. We have the unique need for a motivated and experienced individual to work alongside our lead Communications Specialist on a six-week, contract basis. This role is a full-time position for the duration of the contract.

Think you’re the guy or gal for the job? During your time with Social Ape, you’ll be managing the social media accounts of roughly 3-4 clients as well as developing and executing PR campaigns for several of the same clients.

Job responsibilities:

  • Create and curate social media content for Social Ape clients

  • Manage social media accounts for clients

  • Create, monitor, and modify social media ads (including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram)

  • Execute existing and in-progress creative marketing and PR campaigns

  • Research media contacts and potential partnerships for target markets

  • Create comprehensive reports to analyze results of marketing and PR campaigns

  • Coordinate media events (including securing of vendors, maintaining RSVP list, and execution of event)

  • Leverage existing relationships with media and influencers as well as continue to create new relationships

  • Assist with Social Ape content curation (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.)


  • “Go get ‘em” mentality with eagerness to dive into existing projects head first

  • Ability to and comfort with working in both a small group setting and independently

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, PR, Marketing or related field

  • At least 2 years of experience in marketing and/or PR

  • Proficiency with all major social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Linkedin, etc.)

  • Ability to create and maintain a positive relationship with clients

  • Comfort with reaching out to and creating partnerships with media and influencers

  • Experience with writing press releases and other media materials

  • Ability to think outside the box and have a creative mindset

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills

  • Basic photo editing and graphic design skills

  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Google products

  • Outgoing and positive attitude

  • An insatiable drive to grow and learn new concepts
